Catie Rodgers is one of the hottest trumpet players in the New Orleans Trad Jazz world and holds down regular gigs at several New Orleans clubs, including Buffa's.
Catie came to New Orleans in 2008 from Colorado with nothing much but her musical ability and a trumpet. She essentially camped out in New Orleans for a few years and established residency to be able to go to the University of New Orleans (UNO). She waitressed in a French Quarter jazz club and worked in an instrument repair shop. She taught private trumpet lessons and trumpet sectionals in middle school. Her perseverance paid off when she became the first UNO graduate to perform with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
